💡Operational Tip: Photography Lightboxes come in lots of sizes and are great for taking professional-looking pictures!
Table Of Contents
Depending on your team size and product flow, there are three main ways to start the process of adding pictures to your Products in Link:
-
Scan Barcode - Draft Products with Barcodes: The most common workflow, if all items are manifested or have draft products created before photography
-
Search Draft Items Without Barcode (Rare): An alternative method of finding items in Link if the product barcode wasn’t printed or was damaged and unscannable
-
New Product (Uncommon): Typically used by small teams that don’t manifest or use draft products
Each of these workflows is described below.
This method is used when all items are manifested and product barcodes are attached to them prior to photography. This is the fastest and most common method of taking pictures.
-
Tap the scan icon on the main menu of Link to open the camera
-
Align the product barcode to scan the item
-
Tap “Photograph” to start taking and editing pictures
💡Operational Tip: If you’re using ring scanners, scan the barcode from the dashboard to bring up the item instantly without needing to tap the scan icon on the dashboard!
If a manifested item doesn't have a product barcode or the barcode is unreadable use the search tool to find the item:
-
Scroll down on the main menu and tap “Search”
-
Tap the search bar and enter the title or SKU
-
Tap the item in the search results
-
Tap “Photograph” to start taking and editing pictures
This option is most typically used by small 1-3 person teams with only one source of products who don’t manifest items or prepare draft product barcodes prior to photography. In these instances, a new SKU is generated via Link and printed later at the point of listing.
-
Tap “New Product” from the dashboard
-
Tap the “Tap to add photographs” button to open the camera
Once the camera is opened from the workflow methods described above, you’re ready to take pictures:
-
Line up the item in a clean, well-lit area, then tap the shutter icon (circular button) to take pictures
-
Link tracks the total number of pictures taken of the product in the bottom left corner
-
-
Tap "Use photos" in top right corner to save photos
-
If no edits are needed, tap “Save” in the top right corner
-
Once the pictures are saved, you’ll return to the product page and see a toast at the top of the screen showing how many products you’ve photographed for the day
