How to Update Your Allowlist for the Upright Lister Web Application Firewall (WAF)

Overview

This article explains how to ensure uninterrupted access to Upright Lister following the implementation of our Web Application Firewall (WAF). The WAF is a security layer that protects the platform and your data. If your organization uses a network firewall or allowlist, your IT team will need to add specific IP addresses to your allowlist to avoid any disruption to your team's access.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to someone on your IT or network administration team who can modify your organization's firewall or allowlist settings.

Note: This step is only required if your organization manages its own network firewall or IP allowlist. If you are unsure, check with your IT team.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Share this article (or the IP address list below) with your IT administrator or network team.
  2. Ask your IT team to add the following IP addresses to your organization's allowlist:

IPv4 Addresses:

  • 103.21.244.0/22
  • 103.22.200.0/22
  • 103.31.4.0/22
  • 104.16.0.0/13
  • 104.24.0.0/14
  • 108.162.192.0/18
  • 131.0.72.0/22
  • 141.101.64.0/18
  • 162.158.0.0/15
  • 172.64.0.0/13
  • 173.245.48.0/20
  • 188.114.96.0/20
  • 190.93.240.0/20
  • 197.234.240.0/22
  • 198.41.128.0/17

IPv6 Addresses:

  • 2400:cb00::/32
  • 2606:4700::/32
  • 2803:f800::/32
  • 2405:b500::/32
  • 2405:8100::/32
  • 2a06:98c0::/29
  • 2c0f:f248::/32

  1. Confirm with your IT team that all addresses have been added.
  2. Test access to Upright Lister app.uprightlabs.com after the update is complete to verify everything is working as expected.

What to Expect

  • Once your IT team has updated the allowlist, no further action is needed on your end.
  • The WAF will operate silently in the background. Your team will not notice any change to how Lister looks or functions.

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

My team sees an “Access denied” or “This site can’t be reached” error message

  • Confirm your IT team has added all IP addresses listed above, including both IPv4 and IPv6 ranges.
  • Verify that no addresses were entered incorrectly or partially.
  • Ask your IT team to confirm the changes were saved and applied to the correct firewall or allowlist policy.

I'm not sure if my organization uses a firewall or allowlist

  • Check with your IT or network administrator.
  • If your team accesses the internet through a managed corporate network, an allowlist update is likely required.
  • If you access Lister from an unmanaged or personal network, this step may not be necessary.

My IT team needs more information about the WAF

  • The WAF is powered by Cloudflare. The IP ranges listed above are Cloudflare's standard published ranges.
  • Contact Support if your IT team requires additional technical information.
