Getting Started with Upright Books (For Admins)

Admin Setup Part 1: ISBN Books and Disc Media settings

An Admin user will need to configure the ISBN Books and Disc Media settings before scanning and listing can begin.

  1. Click the gear icon at the top of Lister
  2. Click ISBN Books and Disc Media under the Products and Listing header
  3. The Selling Destination Sorting Rules control at what price point a scanned ISBN item will be rejected, and show users what to do with the rejected item (in addition to the item’s overall selling rank on Amazon)

Set your Estimated Potential Profit setting for the Minimum profit (per item) price point, then your Selling destination if an item does not meet this criteria

  4. The Selling Duration Rules control how long books will appear in your online marketplaces
    1. Set your Maximum Selling Duration in days. This is the default length of time items will appear online.
    2. Set a Selling price point and select the Maximum selling duration for items that are listed at a higher selling price.
    3. Choose an option for how Lister should proceed with items that exceed the Maximum selling duration:
      1. Automatically end listing and recycle item: listings will end, and the product will update to the recycled status so it can be purged by following the steps in this guide.
      2. Keep listed at minimum profit indefinitely: Items will remain online until they are manually ended and recycled.

  5. Auto-Repricing shows the datestamp of the last time repricing was successfully run on listings

  6. Click the blue Save button at the bottom of the page after making changes to your settings

Admin Setup Part 2: Set Auto Repricing Schedule

An Admin user will need to configure the “Scheduled Jobs” settings to allow Lister to reprice ISBN items at designated times.

  1. Click the gear icon at the top of Lister
  2. Click Scheduled Jobs under the Advanced Settings header
  3. Select Repricing from the dropdown menu
  4. Click Create Job to begin repricing items every day at the set times. These times are based on the time zone in your Admin > General settings page

Admin Setup Part 3: Set Users to ISBN Scanner

The ISBN Scanning role restricts permissions in Lister and Link to only allow users to scan ISBN media.

If you have teammates who will only perform this job function, we recommend setting their role to “ISBN Scanner” for a streamlined workflow.

Admin Setup Part 4: Create Inventory Locations for Media Items

We strongly recommend splitting inventory locations into ~50 book sections to increase picking efficiency, with a minimum of 1 inventory location per shelf. Additional locations will increase picking efficiency.

This method will allow users to easily scan for unique Shelf Identifiers on printed media tickets when pulling orders for shipping and purging unsold inventory. If there is only one location per entire shelf rack, team members will take significantly longer to scan and find the right media ticket when pulling orders and purging unsold inventory.

Admin Setup Part 5: Create Media-Specific Picking Profiles

For sellers who ONLY list media items in Lister:

If you only use your Lister account to sell media items, the default picking profiles should be sufficient for most sellers. However, please review this guide for advanced options on picking profiles.

For sellers with both Media and Non-Media marketplaces:

If you list both Media and Non-Media items to your connected marketplaces in Lister, Upright recommends reviewing your existing Picking Profiles. In particular, consider removing the “Books/Music/Media” category from any general picking profiles and creating new profiles specifically for your Books category. For help updating your settings, this guide walks through how to make changes to your Picking Profiles in Lister.

Example Picking Profile: Media Single Item Orders

  1. Set the name for the Picking Profile
  2. Under Order Type, select “Single items only”
  3. Under Shipping Method, select “All(except pickup)”
  4. Under Categories, select “Books/Movies/Music” to select all the subcategories underneath this top-level category
  5. Click Save

Example Picking Profile: Media Multi-Item Orders

  1. Set the name for the Picking Profile
  2. Under Order Type, select “Multi items only”
  3. Under Shipping Method, select “All (except pickup)”
  4. Under Categories, select “Books/Movies/Music” to select all the subcategories underneath this top-level category
  5. Click Save
